Working at a startup
Working in a startup is exhilarating, but it comes with its fair share of hurdles. One of the main challenges I face as a project manager is the fluidity of priorities. Just last quarter, we were preparing a client presentation when the product roadmap shifted completely, forcing me to recalibrate deadlines and redistribute tasks among the team. Coordinating everyone while keeping morale high was tricky, but it taught me the value of resilience and staying composed when chaos hits.
What I enjoy most about startup culture, though, is the autonomy and innovative spirit. Everyone has the freedom to experiment and propose unconventional solutions, which keeps the environment intellectually stimulating. I remember pitching a small workflow tweak that ended up streamlining our entire project cycle — seeing colleagues embrace and implement it was incredibly satisfying. Creating impact and having full ownership over my work makes even the toughest days feel worthwhile.
