A Special Object

One of my most treasured possessions is a small gold locket that belonged to my grandmother. It’s not flashy or expensive, but it’s priceless to me. She gave it to me on my 18th birthday and said, “Whenever you feel lost, just keep this close.”

Inside, there’s a tiny photo of her and a short note folded up like a secret. Whenever I hold it, I feel this incredible sense of connection to her, even though she passed away years ago.

I’ve moved houses several times, and the locket is always the first thing I pack up and the last thing I put away. Losing it would absolutely break my heart.

Objects can’t replace people, of course, but sometimes they hold memories in a way nothing else can. This locket is a reminder of where I come from and the love that shaped me.
