What Makes the Perfect Role Model?

To me, the best role models aren’t the ones with fancy titles or perfect lives — it’s the people who keep going when things are messy. I don’t need someone who’s got it all figured out. I look up to people who are honest about their mistakes and keep showing up anyway.

My uncle Marco is a good example. He’s not super successful in a flashy way, but he’s steady. He worked in construction for years, raised three kids, and always made time for people. What I respect most is how he listens — like, really listens. You never feel judged around him. When I was struggling with what to do after school, he didn’t give me some big inspirational speech. He just said, “Try it. If it doesn’t work, try something else. Nobody gets it right the first time.” And I don’t know — that stuck with me.

He’s just a good human. Kind, reliable, no drama. That’s the kind of person I’d like to be. Someone who makes other people feel calmer just by being around.
